Inside Lacrosse (ESPN Affiliate) reporter Brian Foley praises the
play of South Fraser Warrior grad Andrew Bromley (Surrey, BC / Earl Marriott
Secondary) in his article "Fallball 2011:
Providence College Friars Check-in."
Bromley, a senior face-off specialist for
the Friars (NCAA Div. I), helped guide
Providence to an 11-10 overtime win in a
recent fall scrimmage versus newly appointed
NCAA Div. I program University of Michigan
Wolverines. The game was played at Michigan
Stadium ("The Big House") in Ann Arbor, MI.
Andrew helped to run one of our South Fraser
summer face-off clinics.
"They [Providence
College Friars - NCAA Div. I] started a new
tradition by heading to Michigan this past
weekend to take on the University of
Michigan Wolverines. This was an excellent
chance for the coaching staff to see how the
team handles a road trip while getting the
chance to see a football game.
The Friars ended up
pulling out a 11-10 overtime victory over
the first-year varsity program Michigan in
overtime. The stars of the game was Jeff
Weber, Adam MacBride, Robert Fleming, and
Sean Wright who each picked up two goals in
the exhibition victory. The most impressive thing in the
game was Andrew Bromley, who dominated the
faceoff X in the first half, winning the
nine draws before finishing with 15 wins out
of 24 attempts."
